Massage

Cellulite massage therapy is a natural and inexpensive way to reduce the appearance of telltale cellulite dimples without resorting to surgery, creams, mechanical or electronic devices, and other contrived methods of dealing with the problem of cellulite. Any deep tissue massage, or a massage treatment specific to cellulite, is helpful in breaking down the “cottage cheese” lumps and dips associated with cellulite.

A cellulite massage produces several different benefits that treat the problem both on the surface and below the skin. The process of kneading the affected tissue with a penetrating deep tissue technique will improve circulation and blood flow to the area to soften and gradually break down the fatty deposits, and then to relax the connective bands trapping the fat cells and causing the unsightly pattern.

Massage will also work through the fatty cellulite lumps and dips to allow them to release toxins that have become trapped between the tissues. These toxins are a contributing factor to the development of the fatty lumps. Once released, your body will be able to flush these toxins from your system, enhancing your overall health and energy level as well as helping to reduce cellulite. Similarly, deep tissue manipulation can address lymphatic functions to drain accumulated and excess fluids relevant to the presence and pattern of cellulite.

The massage can be combined with natural oils or lotions that will further enhance the appearance of the skin, aid with healthy exfoliation, and render the skin more elastic and taut to smooth out the residual imprinted effect of the dimpled pattern after the inner tissues have been evened out with the massage technique.

Some cellulite massage therapists may also have you wear special mesh tights or undergarments to further exercise the tissues, or they may use mechanical rollers, heat, heat-generating ointments, or even electrical pulses to assist in the softening and destruction of the lumps and connective pattern.

It will usually take several 45-minute sessions before the appearance of cellulite is noticeably reduced. Repeated or regular ongoing massage treatments are recommended for the best and longest lasting results. When done properly, cellulite massage therapy can mimic the results of expensive mechanical and electronic treatments.
